Dutch oven cooking has been a part of American history for hundreds of years. In the 1700's, as explorers spread westward across North America, so did the Dutch oven. Modern Dutch oven cookers want to preserve this history and tradition of cooking over a fire as did many pioneers in their wagons.
A Dutch Oven Gathering (DOG) is a gathering of people interested in promoting the historical use of cast iron cooking and carrying on the outdoor traditions by teaching the joy of old-fashioned Dutch oven cooking.
At the National DOG 2016, people will gather from all over the country (and world) to share food and recipes, visit with old friends, and make new ones.
Join us at Mohican Adventures in Loudonville, Ohio on June 24- 26, 2016 to learn more about Dutch oven cooking, take classes in Dutch oven techniques, compete with National and World Champion cookers, or just enjoy demonstrations by other cookers.
We look forward to seeing you there ! We will have an AWESOME time!!
